This month's theme is SPORTS! I originally planned this theme for August because the Olympics would be occurring... but things have changed quite a bit since I planned these themes. Unfortunately a lot of school sports may not be happening and sporting events are still up in the air as well. So although you may not be feeling very sporty these days, I think this theme could be a nice way to connect with sports since our normal routes aren't available right now. This month's theme is CAMPING! It's summer and when I think of summer I imagine roasting marshmallows over a campfire and looking up through the trees at the stars. If you want to join me in drawing this month's theme use #DHKCampingDrawingChallenge on instagram to share your art! Background image: Photo by Irfan Maulidi on Unsplash July's Prompts
April's theme is: FOODWe're finding ourselves with some extra free time, and although it's a tough and stressful time it's important to focus on what we can control. I've been using my extra time at home to connect to my creative side. April has 30 days and this list (like all of my drawing challenge lists) has 31 items. That means you can skip a list item if you want or do two drawings on the last day as a grande finale! I tried to include the names for these foods across different countries. Let me know how I did! If you call an item on the list something different where you live, let me know! April's Drawing Challenge: Food
If you join me and draw some tasty food this month,
I'd love to see your art! Tag me @donthesitatekate and share with the tag #DHKFoodDrawingChallenge The new year is almost here and I am getting prepared for another year of drawing something every day! In 2019 I did pretty well with doodling something once a day. I followed prompts found on Instagram and the internet, but I also came up with my own themes for a few months when other drawing challenges had themes that didn't fit what I was looking for. For 2020 I made up an entire year's worth of prompts for myself instead! My goal was to push myself to draw things that I have never drawn before, but also to make sure the items on the list are simple enough to be just a quick doodle if I don't feel like spending the time on a full-fledged drawing. I tried to leave out characters, people and animals since those seem to take me longer to draw. I also left holidays out of my themes for this year so if anyone wants to follow along they can, no matter where they're from! Each month's list has 31 items on it, so for months that have less than 31 days you can pick which prompts you want to skip! I've picked a theme for each month, but I'm going to post all the prompts for the entire year here, so if you don't like a theme you can pick a different one to do instead! If you do join me, feel free to share your doodles and drawings on instagram and tag me @DontHesitateKate because I'd love to see what you make! I'll be breaking this list up and posting each month's list separately as the month begins. I'll make sure to include hashtags on those so we can see each other's drawings! Have a Happy New Year!
