Imagine my surprise when I checked how many days I had left... and realized my 1001st day was over a week ago!I managed to accomplish 25 tasks out of 101! When I first created my list, it was hard to know what I would be able to manage in the 1001 day time frame. I feel like creating my next list will be easier because I have a better feel for how long 1001 days is. I also learned that you can never truly know what's to come in the future. Things like health issues and financial struggles can happen at any time and they really change what your priorities are. I mentioned in a previous post that many entries on my list turned out to be things I don't really want anymore. Counting calories turned out to be bad for my mental and physical health, spending money on certain things became unnecessary and irresponsible as finances became tighter, and an unexpected disability diagnosis made many of the physical tasks no longer possible at this point. I also realized that I made too many tasks that have multiple steps, which are harder to complete. I set several goals for certain amounts of time such as "Do Something 10 Times in a Month". Having tasks that require me to do something a certain number of times are easier to miss since I forget about my list every now and then when life gets busy. It's better to have some tasks that will take awhile, but more tasks that can be accomplished in a day or within a week. Overall, I really enjoyed having a list. On days when I felt restless, it was fun to pick something from my list to work on. I am working on creating a new list and then I'll start a fresh 1001 days! There are several things on my list that I didn't get done and plan to add to my new list. I have a feeling that this list will be a little more grounded since I'll be able to better judge what is possible to achieve in under three years. Things I Learned
